Peralta continues to amaze with his reinvention as a documentarian with this fine film tracking the history of his skateboarding team he formed at the start of the eighties. 'Dogtown and Z Boys' and 'Riding Giants' were both great docs but this one has a much more personal take and rewards greater dividends. The film packs an emotional punch despite being the history of a bunch of millionaires. Top notch.
An absolute must-see for anyone who skateboarded in the 1980's. Stacey has assembled this with pure love, capturing both the phenomenon of modern skateboarding as well as the beautifully talented souls that brought it to the world. I'm glad he waited this long in order to get the level of insight and openness from the original members that only age can provide. Emotional stuff! 4.5 stars
