Even the noteworthy feral scenes by Bette Davis, the luscious Jack Okey art design and the competent directing of Archie Mayo couldn't raise this film above a racist Warner Bros also-ran. A pity that all this talent was attached to such a thoughtless, at times ludicrous, dramatic project.
