The Sound Barrier

David Lean United Kingdom, 1952

Loz Loory's rating of the film Breaking the Sound Barrier

2.5 Lovely to see a young Denholm Elliott. Otherwise, quite daft philosophical dialogue between father and daughter. Of course visions can be evil. They just fought WWII because of Hitler's evil vision. Get that grandchild out of the house toot sweet. Did enjoy how the monstrous sound of the screaming jet plane drove the terrified daughter into the movie theater. That would have made a good Hitchcock film.
