The rare film that maybe gives the audience too much credit as opposed to too little. Thankfully I decided to sleep it off after the first half and start over the next day because at first the jarring dialogue put me off immensely. Having adjusted to it somewhat, I could more fully enjoy the superb direction and crisp visual style and appreciate it as the sly and unique experiment that it is.
A film based on the social and sentimental adolescence confusion. It is present the Noir's classic environment and essence, aided by the Levitt's excellent representation focused on a sarcastic solipsism. In the film reigns the independent essence illustrated in the natural and strong dialogue.
