  1. SpacePirate's rating of the film Broadway Melody of 1940

Astaire and Powell together is enough to make this worth seeing even if it was pure tripe. The cool storyline of mistaken identity and the excellent Frank Morgan cast as a bumbling producer makes this a real sleeper musical and possibly one of MGMs best B&W affairs. Great routines, and nice songs. One of those "they dont make em like they used to films". A real treat. 4.5 stars

  2. MarcH's rating of the film Broadway Melody of 1940

The "Begin The Beguine" number is rightfully considered a classic. The two best tap-dancers ever, sharing the same stage.
