Ratings & Reviews

  1. Francesca Gavin's rating of the film Broken

Seriously bloody intense, sweet and disturbing all at the same time.

  2. Grifisse's rating of the film Broken

Emile Zola's movie in the 21st century

  3. Jessie Yap's rating of the film Broken

  4. BUSTER TIERNEY's rating of the film Broken

  5. fada19's rating of the film Broken

  6. bessede's rating of the film Broken

    trés tendre, trés dur.

  7. macmartin70@yahoo.fr's rating of the film Broken

Lourd. Très lourd.

  8. Rubis's rating of the film Broken

  9. Didonne's rating of the film Broken

Presque...

  10. SPQRNH's rating of the film Broken

  11. mrpasquali's rating of the film Broken

Karma is the best concept that comes to my mind to define this movie. How amazingly the lives of a group of people in different processes in their lives happen to connect in a certain moment is the sustaining idea of this film. I enjoyed it cause I'm always looking, observing for these kind of intense connections around me.

  12. camille's rating of the film Broken

  13. azoulay's rating of the film Broken

  14. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Broken

MELO A GOGO. Google street view on the last 3 houses at the end of the alley, and you have 3 too unlikely dramas. Way too much and suddenly you wanna leave this incredible human junkyard. Particularly irritating editing. ==== Mélo a gogo.

  15. caprica_six's rating of the film Broken

I started off liking it, but LOATHED the entire back end of the film. Enough narratives about how scary the developmentally disabled and/or mentally ill are, //please//.

  16. nyyssonen's rating of the film Broken

Started out really liking this, but I'm just too damn tired of movies about young women lying about rape and people with vague mental health issues being portrayed as murderous "psychos". Also "To Kill A Mockingbird but without people of color" is an awful premise and you should feel bad.

  17. cin·aes·the·tic's rating of the film Broken

"Hey, Boo" ('To Kill a Mockingbird', 1962) "Hey, Rick" ('Broken', 2012) The parallels between this film and 'Mockingbird' are evident, though the stories are not identical. Time and place have changed from 1930s Alabama to 2000s London. As Skunk, Eloise Laurence is as much a revelation as Mary Badham was in the role of Scout. Tim Roth is no Gregory Peck, but who else is? This is a flawed yet powerful humanist film.

  18. Slappy McGee's rating of the film Broken

Killed me. So quirky and yet so touchingly beautiful. Tim Roth is dynamic yet subdued and young Eloise Laurence give a heartbreaking as well as heartwarming performance. The offbeat music choices and flashback, flashforwards all help to make this a remarkable and eccentric film that absolutely captured my heart.

  19. Loz Loory's rating of the film Broken

Wow, that got operatically melodramatic. Good performances from Tim Roth and the girl who played Skunk. Interesting explorations of how the loss of a "proper" mother figure effects children in different ways. Hard to believe restraining order wouldn't have been filed against those girls, or that Eric's family wouldn't have moved him away after the first incident. Nice use of physical cul-de-sac as a literal dead end.

  20. hunyong's rating of the film Broken

She's here.

  21. Dory Bakiewicz Ehmer's rating of the film Broken

Could've done without manipulative montage/ precious song at beginning & end.. Overall a positive lingering; actors all terrific.

  22. David R Williams's rating of the film Broken

A decent little drama accented by some very good performances. The "Mocking Bird" connection is tenuous at best. Perhaps that was more fully developed in the novel. Still - worth wasting some time on.

  23. caitlin.f's rating of the film Broken
