An unorthodox concert film of the Holland-based band, the Ex, playing in New York. Intercut with city footage and documentation of anti-war, anti-Bush demonstrations.
The Ex! ♥ I find concert films a chore to watch, but for the sake of old days, I'll listen to this one.
I love how he contrasts the building blocks, the structural urban landscape with The Ex (and notably happened Cohen's other works too). As if he was saying, "Some mess will remain unrest."
Some gorgeous cinematography, particularly in the first half of Cohen's concert film, but similar to Costa's Ne Change Rien, the lack of much else going on besides footage of the musicians can make the experience somewhat of a drag.
