  • msmichel's rating of the film California Typewriter

The revolution will be typewritten. Interesting tribute to the now displaced typewriter that may meander as it goes along but never bores. From the professional repairmen to the celebrity enthusiasts to the obsessive collectors the film certainly has a wide spectrum of interested parties. Having come from the generation who learned how to type on these antiquated machines versus computers I appreciated its purpose.

  • Evan Schafer's rating of the film California Typewriter

I enjoyed watching how a typewriter can be the tool of the brilliant, how an idea can be typeset to paper by an ink ribbon and internal mechanics. There's nothing more important in this story than the insatiable need of a writer to document his or her thoughts in a way that only spans a short length in a more broad historical context. This doc takes a close look at how the art of typewriters is diminishing. Love it.
