  1. David Sindmark Hörnfeldt's rating of the film Camera Buff

Wonderful film. As always, I don't really care about Kieslowski's plots but this film is a great visual document from inside the Soviet Union.

  2. Luca Angelini's rating of the film Camera Buff

  5. Omar Manjouneh's rating of the film Camera Buff

    - What are you filming? - Anything that moves.

  6. ihor's rating of the film Camera Buff

Early Kieslowski exploring his great fascinations of individual human development and the role art can play for the individual and society as worker Filip attempts to reconcile fascination with cinema with a normal life. The difficulty and suppressive forces of communist society are also hinted at. Cinematically the film isn't as fluid as his later films, but the environment of communist society is still fascinating

  7. Mtume Gant's rating of the film Camera Buff

Kieslowski's early piece about a man's obsession with vocation and what it leads him to learn about himself and the society around him should not be overlooked. It is as poignant as any in his magnificent catalog. Brilliant

  8. Le temps perdu's rating of the film Camera Buff

A bit slow but charming, a gentle insight into the machinations in Poland during the seventies.

  9. eroica's rating of the film Camera Buff

  10. film_lies101's rating of the film Camera Buff

  12. NICOLE86's rating of the film Camera Buff

This is probably right up there with The Decalogue for favorite Kieslowski

  13. Alexander Dunkelberger's rating of the film Camera Buff

Insightful and painful investigation of film and obsession, specifically, well, obsession with film. Most likely a very personal story for Kieslowski, it shows the struggles of the artist with artistic freedom and creative expression, as well as the all consuming nature of working within confines of the creative spectrum, and trying to do something great, even if it means sacrificing all you have. A cautionary tale.

  14. merzka's rating of the film Camera Buff

That one time Kieslowski understood me better than those who actually tried to. Deeply personal 5 stars.

    a masterpiece about filmmaking

  18. Joel's rating of the film Camera Buff

A simpler film than Kieslowski's later works but still poinant. You really get caught up in the characters and the self-referential aspect of a filma bout a filmmaker leaves you with much to ruminate on.

  19. sanjeevdubey's rating of the film Camera Buff

great film maker..finest film making mind

  20. Burcu's rating of the film Camera Buff

The film ends with Filip turning the camera on himself, realizing too late that all along he should have reflected on the consequences of his camera obsession on himself, his life, and his family.

  21. Abhirup's rating of the film Camera Buff

Beautiful images.Andrzej Archacki is almost too perfect!

  22. Hani's rating of the film Camera Buff

I can say that the scene when Filip puts his wife in the hand frame when she was yelling at him before leaving the house is one of the craziest moments in the history of cinema.

  23. Andrea Lazzaroni's rating of the film Camera Buff

  24. foocraft's rating of the film Camera Buff

A realistic portrayal of the sacrifices one makes and the joy of doing so when the intentions are good. As typical with Kieslowski, the film is beautiful to watch and the message is shot from many perspectives through out.
