  • Richmond Hill's rating of the film Carry on Jack

As comedy it’s less satisfying though - and as Carry On an ugly child of the series - with too few regulars and a less than funny flogging scene setting the general tone. This may appeal to Captain Bligh but for end-of-the-pier amusement it’s wide of the mark. Mills is a little too pert, lacking the game ingenue qualities Angela Douglas brought to similar roles although Williams saves the day with his camp captain.
