B. Cox and M. Richardson are great as Winston and Clementine Churchill, fine work by cinematographer, but story itself lacks dramatic tension and often flops to become just another BBC type drama without real cinematic look.
1.5 Lugubrious and melodramatic. Very poor script. Hard to believe that Churchill as Prime Minister would have nothing else to attend to. The country was at war and dealing with huge numbers of refugees, bombed cities, strict rationing, and military casualties all over the world. Now suddenly he is solely worried about D-Day casualties? Felt embarrassingly like manufactured drama. Miranda Richardson is excellent.
