A short silhouette animation by groundbreaking German animator Lotte Reiniger, based on the famous fairy tale.

One of Lotte Reiniger’s early films, Cinderella catalyzed the director’s deep love of fairy tales, which would form the backbone of much of her animated output. With a series of great big “snips,” the charming title cards remind us in meta-fashion of the cut-out origins of its fantasy imagery.
