Synopsis

Our take

The youth film goes political in this portrait of a forbidden homosexual relationship between two young women in Tehran. Filmed under top-secret conditions, and later banned in Iran, Circumstance is at once a tender love story and a cinematic revolt against state sanctioned injustice.
