I have had a chance to look at ALLONS ENFANTS twice, the second time w/ an audience. It is a film for which I have immense affection. It is concept(s) executed w/ panache in urban space. It was of course Marcel Carné who asked when the cinema would go down in the streets, and the French have a legacy of finding ways to do so fortuitously. Demoustier's little Academy ratio masterpiece is an exemplar.
