This film took me by surprise & really got to me. The film focuses on the hardship of the people of the small French village of Lebucquière during the invasion of the Germans in 1940. They are portrayed with dignity & a great sense of solidarity trying to overcome their fears & sorrows, trying to keep their courage in spite of having to leave everything behind as they decide to head for the southern town of Dieppe.
