Black as coal comedy from Alex de la Iglesia that ranks amongst his very best ('Ferpect Crime', 'The Last Circus'). The great Carmen Maura plays a real estate agent who comes across a fortune haphazardly only to find herself the potential victim of the rest of the building's tenants. Consistently surprising, suspenseful and often very humorous. Winner of 3 Goyas that year including best actress.
This film (thanks to the efforts of a friend from Argentina) introduced me to the wonderful films of Álex de la Iglesia, and it's as good a place to start as any in his work. This film is kind of like Sam Raimi's A Simple Plan played on a much larger scale, and for laughs. A fatuous remark, admittedly, but watch the film; you'll see what I mean.
