Ratings & Reviews

  1. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Comradeship

Pacifist film about Franco-German relationships shot 13 years after WWI and 8 years before WWII. If one keeps this in mind, the film becomes fascinating. The sequence showing the fixing of the railings marking the border 600 meters under is tragically surrealistic. Recommended.

  2. Aardsy's rating of the film Comradeship

    Germany Mining Disaster 1931.

  3. Hugo Poderoso's rating of the film Comradeship

With a similar sentibility to 'Westfront 1918', Pabst turns his humanism with the advent of sound in film towards a critique of the nations' borders. The subject matter of 'Komradschaft' would be echoed by Renoir in 'La grande illusion': Identities have more to do with the "vertical" than with the horizontal. "A miner is a miner".
