The sexy "virgin" princess Olivia d'Abo that made me learn that there was a major difference between boys and girls when I was 7 is a big reason to see this sequel. I like the story itself since it is very typical for the genre but still engaging with a epic feel but this installment is too humorous for it's own good and the over-the-top acting from Grace Jones is bad even if she has the look of a warrior woman.
The success of the first film begat an entire movement of sword and sorcery pics in the early 80's. The fad didn't last long as the films seemed to get worse. By the time of this sequel the genre was already disappearing. This was one of the nails in the coffin. Going after a more generic audience and trying to pander to a younger market killed the franchise. A total dud with terrible performances all around..
