FNC '14 There is a surprising universal theme in Tverdovsky's film that despite what part of the world one grows up in; despite one's afflictions or disabilities; despite one's need for peers and acceptance, that in the end the cruelty of adolescence is universal. Casting is excellent here in a tale of acceptance, brotherhood and first love that degenerates into betrayal, jealousy and tragedy. Worth seeking out.
