Pestonji makes no bones about his affinities for American & Filipino cinema. Near the start a cameo by a Filipina singing Dahil Sa Iyo, a kundiman, from a 1938 picture, beloved to this day. Then a mimicry of a Bogart-Bacall flick, To Have & Have Not, & Capra's screwball, It Happened One Night. Throw in gags by a Dolphy-like comic, and it feels like a Sampaguita/LVN production of that era. A decent divertisement.
