Ratings & Reviews

  1. Aardsy's rating of the film Crack-Up

    Mood, and not much else.

  2. Duncan Gray's rating of the film Crack-Up

A really terrific discovery, with so many noir pleasure centers: flashbacks, madness, conspiracy, post-war trauma, a touch of delicious satire, and a duplicitous femme—though maybe not the one you're expecting. The style is moody, paranoid, and imaginative, and the way it treats the idea of art makes the film look in retrospect like a sly statement on how "noir" was a kind of modernism for the masses.

  3. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Crack-Up

Based on a short story by Fredric Brown. A little jewel deserving to be rediscovered. Forgeries, amnesia, Scotland Yard. Film Noir. Nearly a masterpiece.
