Ratings & Reviews

  1. Jeremiah Johnson's rating of the film Culloden

Wonderful research and keen authenticity. Makes you hate history channel with all their stupid reenactments of battle scenes. An exploration into tribalism. That one thing we will never free ourselves of because of our willful ignorance.

  2. José Neves's rating of the film Culloden

Doc Lisboa 2016. A film that installs completely what would be Watkins modus operandi, with an undeniable rigor and plenty of narrative energy. It turns out that there is a demonstrative tendency in much of the film, especially in relation to its voiceover, following a kind of humanist catechesis, fair from my ideological point of view but not very productive in terms of nuances.

  5. Superfrog's rating of the film Culloden

Well, the idea is great and the format innovative. I did not manage to get really carried by the whole.

  6. Andrew Miller's rating of the film Culloden

The Tacitus quote is devestating, layered over images of human faces staring into the terrifying future.

  7. Illusion Travels By Streetcar's rating of the film Culloden

"Can you call this a documentary?" "No." http://illusionpodcast.blogspot.com/2014/05/episode-12.html

  8. JCPJD's rating of the film Culloden

Watched Culloden after seeing Punishment Park. I really enjoyed this. Using modern interview techniques in an historical setting was so illuminating. What's great is that historical characters are so much more interesting than the archetypes that screenwriters so often present us with.

  9. Liviu Cozma's rating of the film Culloden

Not sure if this is purely brilliant satire or just blatantly stupid history. Most probable it's a brilliant satire of blatantly stupid history.

  10. Rath's rating of the film Culloden

  11. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Culloden

  12. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Culloden

So tense that you quickly forget that the characters are interviewed by a journalist born 200 years later. Highly recommended.
