Ratings & Reviews

  1. Aardsy's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

Weird, long, and creepy. But enough about me.

  2. Gabriel Argüello's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

It's quite a challenge to get past the fact that Astaire was more than 30 years older than Caron (just like in Funny Face)... But everything else is quite enjoyable! The color (cinemascope) is amazing. The dance sequences are great... even though they did remind me - a lot - of An American in Paris.

  3. Karthik's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

Elaborates the erotic equivalent of financial capital, investing from afar for a return: the sugar daddy. Though the non-musical bits are fairly interesting (and the Astaire solos near-great) includes, in one of the extended dull-as-ditchwater "ballet" "fantasias", the proto-twerk. (But alas, the cozying up of France to America did not outlive the Marshall plan for long)

  4. N!nA's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

If ever a new version of this movie will be made, I think Armie Hammer is good candidate for the character Daddy Long Legs!!!

  5. Joseph Judge's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

Yes, it's a bit overlong, and especially derivative of the musicals that came before it, but it's absolutely charming; like, more than it should be. Astaire and Caron were surprisingly well-matched. Although seeing her go full-Charisse was...odd.

  6. AKFilmFan's rating of the film Daddy Long Legs

While Astaire and Caron do well and the dance sequences are great, the biggest flaw is how long the film drags on.
