Less a film than an extended papa roach music video. Maybe you needed to read the short story, my hunger for exposition had my searching through the scraps like one of the miscreants of this generic nu-metal wasteland. Did Fury Road steal chroming and blood letting from here?
Quite well written adaptation of the short story, developing the characters, themes, and atmosphere more. The dialogue is equally campy as it is creative and sharp, giving Dance of the Dead a tone akin to 1980's sci-fi flicks, or maybe, splatter-punk fiction. Oddly, the only fault is in the flashy directing and low-rent production by horror master Hooper, but it was one of his more creative works of his late career.
