I love this documentary and find the life of Sergei Polunin, the Ukrainian ballet dancer, truly fascinating and so moving as his family made so many sacrifices for him and at the same time fell apart. Gutted I had to miss his show at the Coliseum in December as we were invited to a wedding. Let's hope he organises another one soon.
The question of why dancer extraordinaire Sergei Polunin decided to give up his career and leave the royal ballet (where he had become the youngest principal dancer ever) is not answered by Cantor's documentary. In fact Cantor's doc really fails to say much of anything at all. The footage of Polunin throughout the years is really the only reason to watch this. Disappointing in its emptiness.
