Unnecessary remake of Romero's third chapter that at least boasts production values better than the previous so-called remakes. Schaech scores here as the self aware zombie. However, even for a horror film, the choices the characters make throughout are beyond idiotic.
There's something to be said about the "so bad its good" genre. I don't know why, but it is engaging. More so than the average barrage of yearly cinema. This one isn't a part of either trending, falling over the "completely inept" category of film. That being said, it did give me one question: Are practical zombie/gore effects easy to do? If not so, props to the team who practiced them in this movie.
