Our take

An incomparable ensemble—ranging from Matthew McConaughey to Parker Posey—drives agreeably loose plotting through a day in the life of the American teenager in Linklater’s cult classic. Though made in ’93 and set in ’76, Dazed and Confused remains peerless on the subject of high school & rock music.
