Richmond Hill's rating of the film Dead of Night: A Woman Sobbing

Various horror cliches - something in the attic, the unbelieved listener, past haunting the present - provide familiar structure to an ambiguous if somewhat under-heated psychosexual drama on the female psyche & neuroses. Or more precisely midlife & obliquely, the Menopause. Sadly it’s not fully explored in the confines of 50-minutes although the cyclic nature of the ‘sobbing’ makes for an obvious if satisfying coda.
