'..turn around bright eyes..' Worth seeing for the final scene alone but the whole picture is a consistent improvement on the first entry. Tongue firmly placed in cheek (detached if you prefer) the film knows exactly what it is and what its genre limitations are. In the end a fun romp with a good gore quotient with pretty enjoyable performances to boot including Vegar Hoel and star in the making Ingrid Haas.
The sequel to "Dead Snow" jettisons any notions of being a respectable horror flick and instead says, 'You know what, we're not going to be able to come up with anything Sam Raimi didn't already do in the Eighties, so why not have fun with it?' The sophomoric humor misses the mark as often as it lands, but the quirky characters, ample gore, and premise of a zombie arm granting super powers make the runtime fly by.
Pretty damn entertaining zombie flick. Nazi zombies using the intestines of slain tourists to siphon gas from a tour bus to a WWII-era, museum display tank is one of the greatest things I have ever seen in a film.
Tommy Wirkola presents us a narrative in which nerds are funny freaks, women are awkward ladies in distress, gay men are so repressed they cannot even pronounce the word "gay", the police is a bunch of useless cowards and Americans are the brave ones who help the white-hetero-male-hero to save the world from nazi monsters - by using an army of zombie commies. This is what I call ONE BAD SCRIPT.
Very much following the style of evil dead, this film sees the protagonist raising his own army to fight an undead horde. As with the original very humorous and tongue in cheek (although probably a bit less intense in this and a lot more slapstick).
this one doesn't waste any time setting up a gore filled scene after another. and it really isn't a bad thing since bloody black humour is expected and the movie delivers it in shovel-fulls.
it's an hommage to evil dead and anyone who ever drunkenly asked what would happen if zombie nazis and russians were ever to clash.
and the head russian got me thinking of le chuck.
Okay, wow? This was batshit hilarious. The humour was perfectly timed and the mood was altogether great. A few jokes were forced and some things were a bit too ludicrous, but overall it's a super funny ride.
