A brutal and affecting work on the matter of love. Another masterwork in the Decalogue. Shit fucked me up. More to come on this one when I see the long version, A Short Film About Love.

  4. FISCHER's rating of the film Decalogue VI

Les tortueux méandres et tourments du sentiment amoureux dans sa quête désordonnée et son impossibilité existentielle. Sublime ! www.cinefiches.com

  6. Duncan Gray's rating of the film Decalogue VI

Shame and disillusionment arrive as collateral damage when, for one young man, sex goes from being a theoretical fantasy to being an actual experience. As with a lot of male-centered stories, the heroine is a bit hard to get a bead on—she seems to feel however the story needs her to feel at any given moment. But this still may be the high point of the Decalogue and a powerful hour of cinema.

She cries over spilt milk, and you watch her. A fantasy fulfilled, all but too late.

'Thou shalt not commit adultery'. I sincerely think that you could judge someone by the way he reacts to this film. Masterpiece.

  13. G. Thomas Esmay's rating of the film Decalogue VI

2.5/5. A weird (and humorous, maybe?) film about a voyeuristic young man who longs to be closer to the woman he spies on.

  14. Kamran's rating of the film Decalogue VI

The most somber episode. With its understated visual design and hypnotic score--one of Preisner's best--the film abounds with sensuality and evokes most plainly the provoked vulnerability of unrequited desire. With sparse dialogue, Love expresses the most while saying the least. From joy to tragedy it captures the most profound of human experiences. 96/100 - Masterful.

  15. Landen Celano's rating of the film Decalogue VI

Had a moment during this episode that I felt Kieslowski cheapened himself – "Does he always have to resort to death as a device?" – but then felt like an idiot not having faith that it's not without purpose.

  18. esen özen's rating of the film Decalogue VI

Bu film yalnız aşkla ilgili değil, saf bir kalbin gücüyle de ilgili, değiştirme, güzelleştirme, özgürleştirme gücü. Soğuk binalar, ifadesiz insan yüzleri, cinsellikten öteye geçmeyen kadın erkek ilişkileri, Tomek'in varlığıyla farklılaşıyor. Gülümserken buluyorsunuz kendinizi sürekli. Bir yerde katışıksız bir şeyler yetişip yeşeriyorsa dünya orada güzeldir.Klişe belki ama doğru, her şey sevgiyle başlar.
