Was made the same time THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE came out, but this unfortunately didn't do much justice while the other film had. (Note: Tom Savini does some early make-up effects before later working for George Romero.)
Robert Blossoms is believable and very realistic as killer inspired by "Ed Gein" with murders that feel accurate and like something that has happened in reality. The eerie and atmospheric serial killer is ruined by a "newspaper journalist" that tries to sell the film as a documentary film, a character that is totally unnecessary as the film is horrifically believable enough.
