Great work (starring, direction, camera, editing, music and sound) of a problem I thought about as well when in South Africa. No mixed couple, black people in the lower jobs or jobless, still no power in the township houses - after so long time! I enjoyed how the professor (Malkovich) started to understand his daughters reaction.

  4. ImagoDeiLife's rating of the film Disgrace

Ain't nobody clean. South Africa and its shameful attitudes and behaviors. Turn a blind eye to this film as those who turned the same blind eye to human atrocities.

  5. roshaw7's rating of the film Disgrace

Good watch but slightly wooden in the acting department

  6. France Claude's rating of the film Disgrace

John Malkovitch is an amazing actor. Period. This film made me think about Dogville except that - SPOILER ALERT - there is no revenge which is quite frustrating. It serves the purpose but damn it’s depressing !

  7. mpho3's rating of the film Disgrace

Damn it, my heart aches for you and all you've been through, Africa. In many ways this a horror film. Cons: Malkovich's accent, pacing. Pros: "A story of almost transcendental humiliation – it could be called biblical, except that unlike Job, Lurie has no God to confront." - Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian.
