Ratings & Reviews

  1. the_mentaculus's rating of the film Dodge City

Unfortunately static - in both narrative and visual construction - even when compared to contemporaneous Curtiz/Flynn/de Havilland/Western/Warner Bros. studio productions. In the ripe, Golden Year of 1939, Dodge City is merely a benchwarmer.

  2. George Harvey Bone's rating of the film Dodge City

One of the best classic Hollywood westerns, with the bonus of Ann Sheridan in glorious 3 strip technicolor!

  3. SpacePirate's rating of the film Dodge City

Solid late 30s western. Flynn is a bit out of place given his accent, but he approaches the role with all the gusto he gave in Robin Hood. De Havilland is also reunited with her frequent costar, but feels rather under utilized here given her immense talent. Glad she got to stretch her acting muscles later in her career in films like The Heiress and Snake Pit. All in all, very entertaining film. Solid 4 stars

  4. Hugo Poderoso's rating of the film Dodge City

Better in the high scale or the action than in the small narrative sequence.

  5. oldfilmsflicker's rating of the film Dodge City

This film is in (gorgoeus) Technicolor, not black and white. Y'all need to fix that!

  6. chanandre's rating of the film Dodge City

[Cinémathèque PT #460: 35 mm] (2007) - Heaven is not a place on earth with you, rather a place where you can see De Havilland and Flynn acting opposite each other.
