Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Dog's Dialogue

    >>> Le facétieux Raul Ruiz s'est inspiré de quelques articles de la presse à sensation pour construire ce récit très original, tourné en images fixes comme un roman-photo avec une voix off uniquement. Un ton personnel pour un résultat drôle et im(pertinent)... www.cinefiches.com

  2. Raymond Likes Subtitles's rating of the film Dog's Dialogue

  3. José Neves's rating of the film Dog's Dialogue

"La Jetée" in a novelistic application, via pulp fiction, that transforms Marker's premises by a careful manipulation of images, combining both the differences in meaning between the text-off and the photos and its elaboration, in an interior permanent game of deconstruction. A complex analysis of narrativity and the origins of the being, adrift in a multitude of signs and significations.

  4. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Dog's Dialogue

The dogs are barking because they're warning you not to live there or you'll turn evil and start killing people.

when chris marker more into dogs than cats

  6. Adam Whybray's rating of the film Dog's Dialogue

Curiously Godardian and a little cruel. A sordid semiotic melodrama with wonderfully crappy synthesizer accompaniment that would be at home on an early Legendary Pink Dots release. Still, somewhat disappointing since I could imagine the thought processes involved in the film's production, which is not something I can say for any of Ruiz' other films I've seen from the 70s or 80s.
