I like Alison Lohman who manage to make her character likable and I did care for her fate and how she try to stop the gypsy curse. Lorna Raver is also 100% believable as old crazy gypsy. It is a visually memorable film with atmosphere and a lot of fun moments. This movie is supposed to be 100% camp comic book horror movie - it just misses the Cryptkeeper at the beginning and end laughing his teeth out.
It's just a series of obvious jump scares, bland characters, and an ending you see coming miles away. Also there was no justification for the main girl being cursed, it was a very petty one. Plus being PG-13 doesn't help, this is by the director of Evil Dead, I'm expecting over the top gore. And even when there is gore, it's shitty CGI.
Had no idea what this movie was about beforehand. I actually enjoyed it, it is fast paced for this type of horror movie, which made it more enjoyable for me. no long boring backstory. I just realized this is categorized as horror and comedy and I actually laughed a few times out loud as well, especially at the end. At least she wore the new blue coat though ;)
