  1. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Dragonwyck

More than snobby Nicholas Van Ryn, Peggy O'Malley, the crippled maid, Johanna Van Ryn, the glutton wife, Katrine Van Ryn, the missing girl, Jeff Turner, the progressive doctor. That's what annoyed me in this first Mankiewicz effort: every character seems to have a label attached to his clothes. It's really the film of a screenwriter learning to become a director. Recommended though.

  6. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Dragonwyck

  7. AKFilmFan's rating of the film Dragonwyck

Part gothic romance, historical drama, and supernatural mystery, this genre bending film doesn't completely work. Vincent Price does good as leading man gentleman/menacing villain and the similarities to Jane Eyre & Rebecca are eerie but this one doesn't beat them by a mile.
