As a film, it is wonderful. It has brilliant photography, an oppressive ambiance rarely found otherwise, helped by a good soundtrack, a solid if mechanical plot that does not disappoint. In the the current geopolitical tension context, it is verging on dangerous by being a clear depiction of Iran as a rotten to the core place with only one good person or two out of jail.
The best work of Rasoulof that I have seen. An essay on corruption and intolerance in Iran. Can't believe the film could have been made in Iran but it was! The ending is ironic to the hilt, deserving of the honours it received at Cannes, Chicago and Jerusalem film fests--an indicator of its universal appeal and recognition. http://moviessansfrontiers.blogspot.in/2018/03/220-iranian-director-mohammad-rasoulofs.html
A Man of Integrity is a clever, rewarding and damning comment on power, corruption and influence as one man battles to do things the 'right' way in a crooked world. It pulls no punches in it's multiple attacks on the politics of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Soudabeh Beizaee as the wife Hadis, gives a strong, grounded performance that helps balance out the doggedness of Reza Akhlaghirad as Reza. Great stuff! 4stars
