Ratings & Reviews

  1. luz de topos's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  2. Matthew Catanzano's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Truly one of cinema's most complex characters and portrayals; though I thought the ending should have been more tragic.

  3. gabi gabi gabi's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

montage, overall arc was well-done, became less interesting (oddly) as soon as william b stepped in. the revelation to his girlfriend about sobriety seemed too obvious to need to be said aloud.

  4. Paul Mallinson's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  5. Z's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

    "We played a game you couldn't win...to the utmost."-Bob

  6. FISCHER's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Malgré la vision quasi-documentaire du monde des dealers et autres junkies, d'une brutale véracité, le film finit par agacer par sa prétention, ses afféteries et son scénario fort banal... www.cinefiches.com

  7. Madison Rudd's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  8. EvelynNoche's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Matt Dillon at his best in Gus Van Sant's damaged world. The accuracy of doomed love between addicts is real.

  9. JasonAv's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  10. Federico Di Folco's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  11. Michael Harbour's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Unsentimental but sympathetic portrayal of a junkie family/gang that neither lauds nor condemns their lifestyle. The ruminations, myths, rules, and superstitions that tumble about sometimes offer insights into the reality of their lives and sometimes offer insights into how they deflect reality. Most of the performances are quite good. William S. Burroughs is delightful as Tom, the ex(ish)-junkie priest.

  12. M. Tyler's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  13. nino nino's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

I probably would have hated this if Burroughs wasn't in it. I wonder what he would have thought of the film...especially in light of his views on the ineffectiveness of methadone treatments...

  14. Shayan Bazri's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  15. Fabio Nosotti's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  16. Lynch/Fellini's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

I love Gus van Sant and here is an example why- plus William S. Burroughs, always a welcome presence!

  17. Arf's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

  18. Zach Closs's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Remarkably funny given the subject matter, and yet still a movie "Requiem for a Dream" took some cues from.

  19. José Neves's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

"Desire" list. A Van Sant less remembered than some other far less interesting and that constitutes a kind of novelistic clearance of his defects and drifts. Burroughs is the philosophical expression of the "pathos" of the film, its critical awareness, and Matt Dillon is its physical exponent, six years after the extraordinary "The Outsiders" with the aura already bruised by the life that intervened.

  20. El Biffo's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Matt Dillon's peak performance. Great performances by all, I especially like Max Perlich and William Burroughs. This film and MALA NOCHE are Gus Van Zant's best.

  21. Murat Erdem's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

    Döneminin en iyi işlerinden. Samimi.

  22. brendanprost's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

Van Sant shows a sense of humour I never expected from him.

  23. Vlad's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

"See, most people, they don't know how they're gonna feel from one minute to the next. But a dope fiend has a pretty good idea. All you gotta do is look at the labels on the little bottles."

  24. Cinema Paradisio's rating of the film Drugstore Cowboy

    Ditto. Soundtrack was awesome. Israelites
