El Valley Centro is an abstract documentary about California’s Central Valley. Consisting of 35 shots, each over two minutes long, the film quietly portrays nature’s subjugation to encroaching commercial interests.

Good Arsenal print, 16mm. Re-rating: the image work, while unavoidably intelligent and politically appropriate, would require a textuality beyond its plastic construction in order to provide the film with an additional discursive component. The initial 3 frames, in their intertextuality between horizontality and lines of escape, to the center and in depth, incite to a vivid text that will not follow that path.
