Forget being metal as fuck - this is NOISE. The point where the avant-garde and the anarchic meet and proceed to knock the wind out of each other. Probably not the typical absurd-o trashfest you'd presume it to be on first glance (not that you'd think that if you knew about Ishii, but at 55 min. its a great starting point), but there's so much raw ENERGY here you'll be stunned anyway
i just never really enjoy the hyperactive strain of japanese cyberpunk to which this film, along with stuff like pinocchio 964, belongs. it just feels like i'm watching a kinda social realist version of dragonball z. some cool locations and sound mixing though. i think ishii showed his talent later, when he was if anything more subdued than the average filmmaker, in labyrinth of dreams.
