De Niro stars as a man reflecting on the immigrant experience as he wanders the halls of the abandoned Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital among an installation of images of century-old photographs of European immigrants.

Pretty effective and evocative short, physically and psychically haunted by the past. The true subject isn't the lone figure stalking the halls, but details like peeling paint and a deep, impenetrable fog. I'm not sure Di Nero has felt this present, engaged and captivating in years. He should be in a Malick film.
