Ratings & Reviews

  1. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Escape

There are a lot of boring scenes and endless conversations in this film but there are also very interesting moments like the escape from the concentration camp. All of a sudden 'Escape' acquires a strange dimension as we see Robert Taylor nailing with fury his mother's coffin in front of two Nazis, fearing that she might awaken. Conrad Veidt is also great here. A good surprise (every now and then). Recommended.

  2. MarcH's rating of the film Escape

Neglected gem based on one of the most popular books of the era. The concentration camp escape sequence is a nail-biter (this film cries out for Alfred Hitchcock...he would have done more with Veidt's unusual relationship with Shearer, which the entire climax hinges on).
