  1. Eric Eidelstein's rating of the film Europa Europa

A straightforward telling of Solomon Perel's incredible life — how he pretended to be a Hitler Youth throughout World War II. Holland's film isn't expceptional by any means, but Perel's journey, his ability to hold onto his faith in secret, feels necessary to witness. Especially now.

  2. FISCHER's rating of the film Europa Europa

Certes, le propos est noble et la cause évidente, mais le traitement du sujet, hautement dramatique, aurait mérité plus de rigueur dans la narration... www.cinefiches.com

  4. ramosbarajas's rating of the film Europa Europa

An exploration of identity and how fluid it can be, especially when it's dependant on survival. The film itself can feel fragmented at points, not a necessarily negative issue since it's a memoir, but it could be more cohesive of the the whole experience.

  6. spacemonkeymax's rating of the film Europa Europa

  7. Phil Worfel's rating of the film Europa Europa

I found the film weirdly dated. As there have been so many films about the Jewish experience of the Holocaust there was not much that made this one stand apart. There were some tremendous visuals and some fascinating vignettes but on the whole I did not the find the protagonist to be compelling as a character despite the fact that it was a true story. A worthwhile viewing for those fascinated by the era.
