Ratings & Reviews

  1. Nick Schwab's rating of the film Evil Dead Trap

First seemingly taking from the tired plot mechanics of Friday the 13th, with even lesser characterization, Evil Dead Trap later morphs into a Cronenbergian-like version of the latter-day Saw films, but has much more finesse in its style and directing. The industrial-wasteland atmosphere, its Argento-cribbed score, and the fever-dream lighting make it-- like its multiple endings-- a nightmare that you can't escape.

  2. Anthony De Luca's rating of the film Evil Dead Trap

Generic slasher saved by cinematography and score. The lighting in the final act is really inventive.

  3. animalcalls's rating of the film Evil Dead Trap

Too long and too many false endings--but the gore is on point, the music is great, and the cinematography is shockingly artful at times. It also has that distinctly Japanese derelict-factory-abandoned-grey-building-heavy-mist aesthetic Worth a watch for genre fans pining for the days of practical effects.
