Strong performance with expectedly good soundtrack. The film relies on strong scenes, the soundtrack and a thread of backmigration to stay coherent. There a a few scenes where great work is spoilt by going on for too long, like the mosquito one. Definitely worth a watch but weaker than gadjo dilo.
Colors, orange, red, fruits, skin, mouth, explosion of the senses, dark eyes in kohl, the Mediterranean a bomb & BOZON + GATLIF set it on fire. === Couleurs, orange, rouge, jaune soleil, matières, chairs, fruits, peau, bouches, explosions des sens, regards sombres au khol, la Méditerranée est 1 bombe & BOZON + GATLIF y mettent le feu. Great camera work by Céline Bozon. Superb music score GATLIF. Lubna AZABAL is nitro
Strong entry by director Gatlif that continues the themes throughout his work of the displaced Roma and Algerian culture and its hanging onto its ways through music and community. While not on par with 'Gadjo Dilo' or 'Latcho Drom' this more story centric tale is centered by two key performances by Duruis and Azabal as two French lovers with a common history who travel back to Algeria to find their own history.
