Synopsis

Ivy Ling Po tears up the screen as a jealous, murderous movie star, who, like seemingly all “film noir” vixens, wants to kill off her husband. While she’s infuriated that the hitman she hires bungles the job, she’s delighted that her husband is found guilty for the killer’s “murder”.

  • José Neves's rating of the film Fairy Couple

A musical in the style of a Huangmei opera that proposes some delirium in its representation and that is an absolute deviation to the socialist realist style, which turned out to be very sour for its director who, accused of rightsism with subsequent consequences, committed suicide two years later, A film that, although not entirely contrary to a stage dependence, has an increased interest for its artistic relevance.
