Ratings & Reviews

  1. Westley's rating of the film Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America

Suburban emptiness, dysfunction, and horror. A film about the bad things that happen all around us, behind closed doors. The film has an atmosphere of detached, quiet terror. I would compare the mood of the film to Todd Haynes' "Safe" and the Austrian film "Michael". Be warned, there is some very shocking and explicit gore. Overall, it's a very good film in the art-house horror genre.
