  5. Henrique Amud's rating of the film Fill the Void

Beautiful, restrained, minimal. It is, as someone here pointed out, Jane Austen for the 21st century, done with a punch to the gut. Loved almost everything about it.

  6. aikeart's rating of the film Fill the Void

  7. shizu mura's rating of the film Fill the Void

so finely established main character girl! and astonishing music

  8. El Biffo's rating of the film Fill the Void

Too Jewish! That's what most of my Jewish friends said, and it certainly helps to understand this film if you are familiar with the Haredi community and their interpretation of halacha. I am familiar with it, and I found this film to be a very thoughtful, objective look at the sensitive topic of arranged marriages, even though the film was made by a Haredi woman. Extremely well- done debut by Gveret Burshtein.

  9. Carlos Filipe Freitas's rating of the film Fill the Void

Embraces marriage in an orthodox Hasidic community in Israel with extreme sensibility and in a non-intrusive way, putting a whirl of complex emotions in each character. Review and Rating: http://alwayswatchgoodmovies.blogspot.com/2013/05/fill-void-2012.html

  10. msmichel's rating of the film Fill the Void

Small in stature and execution but a worthy gem regardless from first time filmmaker Rama Burshtein. The film provides a glimpse into an Orthodox Hassidic family; their beliefs, their tradtions; their sense of family and marriage above all else to praise God. Yet the film does seem to universal in some ways in its look at arranged marriages and familial responsibilities. The film avoids the saccharine thankfully.

  11. Annie Gentil-Kraatz's rating of the film Fill the Void

The film gives you an insight into the Hasidi Jewish community but I wish I could have learnt a bit more. A family puts pressure on a young woman to marry the husband of her deceased sister so that her child can stay in the country. Fortunately, there is a happy ending...

  12. Francesca Magliulo's rating of the film Fill the Void

Un assaggio di vita mai conosciuta

  13. MATTEO BITTANTI's rating of the film Fill the Void

THE ORDINARY WORLD. THE CALL TO ADVENTURE. REFUSAL OF THE CALL. MEETING WITH THE MENTOR. CROSSING THE THRESHOLD. TESTS, ALLIES AND ENEMIES. APPROACH.. The film really ends here.

  14. Mark Keith's rating of the film Fill the Void

I love the a cappella music in this film as well. I wish the soundtrack were also available on some form of digital media.

  15. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film Fill the Void

    ★★★ a very long engagement.

  16. Jorge Mourinha's rating of the film Fill the Void

  17. The Future Mr. Gitts's rating of the film Fill the Void

Explores an interesting world and has a solid cast, but this is a formulaic story sculpted without much technical proficiency, especially when it comes to the cinematography—shoddy work by the DP and/or focus puller. Some shots are randomly out of focus (or damaged by distractingly shallow depth of field), and the intermittent use of soft lighting is poorly integrated and seemingly without purpose.

  18. Michael Harbour's rating of the film Fill the Void

Interesting, though not compelling or especially well made. Admirable for sharing a view into a world most moviegoers will be unfamiliar with and good enough that the rather rudimentary storytelling and movie making skills don't devalue the movie.

  19. Andrea's rating of the film Fill the Void

This movie is a little minimalist gem.

  20. oliv.tv's rating of the film Fill the Void

  22. Spoiler's rating of the film Fill the Void
