    While the plot is a bit silly, the actors do an excellent job, and the film is well crafted. Basil Rathbone plays an excellent meanie, and Laraine Day is swell, but you have to hand it to Lew Ayres. He was a conscientious-objector during World War II, when it was quite an unpopular thing to do.
