Takeshi Kitano Japan, 1997

VincentVendetta's rating of the film Fireworks

Some people paint pictures to kill time, some people paint cars to rob banks. Quite the same, really; a creative and destructive drive, peaceful and furious in front of oblivion. Kitano's nihilistic rhetoric finds a great counterpoint and a great partner in such beautiful images. Like Godard said, "it's not blood, it's red paint."
